How do I find the right filter for my Recom heat recovery unit?

The quickest option is the model code on the front cover label. We stock filter sets for the Recom 2RT, 2SR, 3SEF, 3SR, 4RT, 4S(E), 4SR, 6S(E), 6SR, EPP2SE and EPP3SE. If the label isn't legible, measure the extract and supply filters directly and match the dimensions on our product pages.
What filter classes are used in Recom heat recovery units?

The Recom filter sets we stock are G4+F7: a G4 filter that protects the heat exchanger from coarse dust and a fine F7 (ePM1) filter that cleans the incoming air of fine dust and pollen. They are made in our house brand to the original dimensions for a precise fit.
Is it worth choosing an equivalent filter instead of an original Recom one?

Yes – our equivalent Recom filters are made to the same dimensions and ISO 16890 filtration class (G4 or F7) as the original manufacturer's filters, only manufactured in the EU and at a lower price. Since G4 class filters need replacing more often than M5/F7, the price difference becomes significant over a year.
If you're unsure of the exact size, send us the model code or the filter's dimensions before ordering – we'll check the match in advance.
How often should Recom filters be replaced?

Since the standard G4 filter is a coarser class, it clogs faster than M5 or F7 class filters, so in Recom units it's recommended to check the filters every 2–3 months and replace them once you notice reduced airflow or increased noise. The standard maximum interval is 3–6 months, but in a dusty environment or near a busy street it's worth checking more often.
Regular checks protect not only air quality but also the recovery unit's own heat exchanger from premature contamination.
Can I use a higher-class F7 filter in a Recom unit instead of the standard G4?

It's already included. All the Recom sets we stock are G4+F7 – a G4 filter on the extract side and a fine F7 (ePM1) filter on the supply side, which captures fine particles and pollen better than G4. There's no separate upgrade to choose – just order the set for your model and fit the F7 filter on the supply side, following the airflow arrow on the frame.
Can I order Recom filters in bulk to cover a whole year of replacements?

Yes, and it's a practical option. Depending on your replacement interval, a year's supply is usually 2–4 filter sets, which comfortably exceeds the €100 threshold for free delivery. Filters store well for a year or more as long as they're kept in their original packaging in a dry, dust-free place away from direct sunlight. Ordering a year's supply at once also means you always have a fresh set on hand when the unit shows a filter warning, instead of running on a saturated filter while you wait for a delivery.
