Why do you only offer sets of 2 Blauberg filters instead of 3?

Plus icon Close icon

Initially, Blauberg MVHR units have three filters installed. The third filter is added temporarily during or shortly after construction to protect the main supply filter from construction dust and debris. It is intended to be removed once construction is complete and you move into the premises.

After that, the system is designed to operate efficiently with two filters: one for the extract air (stale indoor air going out) and one for the supply air (fresh air coming in). Using more than two filters during regular operation is unnecessary. So when replacing the filters, only the two main filters need to be changed.

Why do Blauberg units of the same model sometimes take different-sized filters?

Plus icon Close icon

Blauberg periodically updates the internal filter housings across different production batches, while the commercial model name often stays the same. If the filter you ordered doesn't fit even though the model matches the data plate, the most reliable approach is to measure the filter's physical dimensions rather than rely on the model number alone. This check ensures an exact match even in cases where units carrying the same name were slightly modified at the factory.

How much can I save by buying compatible Blauberg filters instead of original ones?

Plus icon Close icon

Our ISO 16890 certified compatible filters for Blauberg units usually cost noticeably less than the manufacturer's original filters, since you're not paying extra for branded packaging. The filtration class, dimensions and airflow figures match the OEM specification, so you get the savings without any drop in indoor air quality or heat recovery performance.

My Blauberg unit came with three filters – which ones do I need to reorder?

Plus icon Close icon

Blauberg units are often delivered with three filters, but the third one is a temporary construction filter. It protects the heat exchanger from building dust during the finishing works and is meant to be removed once the house is in normal use. After that, the unit runs on two filters – one on the extract side and one on the supply side – and those are the two you need to reorder regularly. If you're not sure whether the construction filter is still installed, open the filter compartment and count them: in normal operation there should be only two.

Do I need tools or a technician to replace filters in a Blauberg unit?

Plus icon Close icon

No – most residential Blauberg heat recovery units are designed so the filters can be accessed without any tools:

  1. open the front or side cover by hand
  2. pull out the old filter
  3. slide in the new filter and close the cover

The whole process usually takes just a few minutes and doesn't require calling in an installer – any homeowner or apartment resident can change the filters themselves.

What filter class is standard in Blauberg units?

Plus icon Close icon

Residential Blauberg heat recovery units are usually equipped with a coarse G4 class filter on the extract air side and an M5 class filter on the supply air side – this provides good protection against dust and larger particles at an affordable price. On most models, the supply air filter can be upgraded to F7 class if a household member has an allergy to dust or pollen and needs better fine-particle capture.

How do I find the right filter for my Blauberg heat recovery unit?

Plus icon Close icon

Blauberg makes a wide range of residential and commercial ventilation units – plate, enthalpy (e.g. the Komfort EC series) and rotary heat exchangers – so the fastest way to find the right filter is the model code on the unit's data plate, usually located near the electrical connections panel. If the plate is damaged or illegible, the filter's dimensions in millimetres will let you find the exact match in our catalogue by size rather than model name alone.
